About Loste

The Loste domain covers 6.4 acres situated at the end of a plateau, with slopes on three sides. The gîtes and main house are all located at the edge, giving them wonderful views over the surrounding valleys.

Our three gîtes all have their own unique rustic character, coupled with all the amenities for comfort.

The kitchens are fully equipped with refrigerator, four-burner electric hob and oven/microwave, pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, a coffeemaker, hot water kettle, soap dish and tea towels. Each gîte has private washing and toilet facilities, and towels and sheets are provided.

The Pigeonnier

2 people

When this dovecote was built, Napoleon Bonaparte was in power and the right to own a dovecote was extended to farmers. The poor farmland could use the help of the fertiliser provided by the pigeons and they themselves appeared on the menu of the farmers. Dovecotes are still found in different heights and forms in this region but many of them have fallen in decay.

Our Pigeonnier is the most romantic gîte and a perfect retreat from the hectic world that we are dealing with now. We have restored this building with lots of love and attention to detail. In contrast to many other towers, ours has three floors, a cozy living room on top with satellite TV and access to the major European channels.

The sofa ensures that you can relax on those rare rainy days or follow the news back home. If necessary the sofa can convert into a bed. We can provide a foldable bed for a small child so a couple with a child can stay there too. Be sure to take a peak out of the window and admire the view of the valley.

The middle floor houses a double bed and separate bathroom with a rain shower. The breakfast and kitchen area are situated on the ground floor. You can easily access the terrace to facilitate an outdoor breakfast. The terrace itself offers privacy due to its position within the landscape.

The Atelier

4 people

This gîte is attached to the main house and was used to house a workshop and farm equipment. All rooms are on the same level and it has been completely transformed into a comfortable space for a family vacation.

There are two bedrooms: one master with a double bed and another with two singles. The open plan living room / kitchen ensures contact between the chef in the kitchen and the critical customers in front of the TV.

There is a separate shower room with shower and toilet. A wood burning stove ensures comfortable warmth on the rare chilly evenings.

Opposite the Atelier is the terrace with a fire pit BBQ. From there you have a wonderful view on the valley.

The Atelier is suitable for two couples or a family with children.

The Porcherie

2 people

This charming little gîte behind the main house was used to house a couple of pigs, but those days are long gone.

We have turned it into a gîte or chambre d’amis. We intentionally kept things simple here: a double bed, shower and toilet.

If you are looking for an authentic place to lay your head down, this is for you. Or perhaps you rented one of our other gîtes and you need an extra bed for your company. Perfect. We will figure it out together!
